What to Do After an Accident

GO TO THE HOSPITAL OR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY // You should seek immediate medical attention following the accident so that your health care professionals can diagnose and treat your injuries.

DON'T TALK TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY // Other than the police and medical personnel, you should not talk to anyone about the accident, especially insurance companies. Insurance companies will try to get you to admit that you were at fault for the accident or were not injured, which will jeopardize your entire case.

CONTACT A PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY // As soon as you are able, you should consult with a personal injury attorney. An experienced personal injury attorney can provide proper legal advice so that you are able to maximize your recovery.

DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT // If possible, you should take pictures of the scene of the accident, the vehicles involved, and any of your injuries.  You should also keep a copy of all of your medical records.
